Project Background
A provincial water surveying company in China, known for its involvement in high-tech water engineering projects, has played a significant role in completing several major national technology initiatives. The company has accumulated extensive industry experience and expertise over the years, having successfully undertaken the planning, surveying, design, and construction of over 4,000 water engineering projects. To meet the increasing demand for digitalization in its operations, the company decided to build a dual-compute data center that would support its growing data processing and computing needs.
Project Requirement:
The company required a reliable, efficient, and scalable data center solution capable of supporting its business operations while meeting the following key requirements:
- Dual-Compute Capacity: To handle the increasing computational demands of the company’s operations and provide redundancy for business continuity.
- Energy Efficiency: A focus on minimizing energy consumption and operational costs, aligning with the company’s sustainability goals.
- Remote Monitoring and Management: A system that allows for remote monitoring and control, enabling 24/7 operations without the need for on-site staff.
- Scalability: The solution should be easily scalable to accommodate future growth in both physical space and computing capacity.
- Robust Security: Ensuring the highest levels of physical and cybersecurity to protect sensitive data and critical infrastructure.
Solution:
Gottogpower provided a comprehensive micro-modular data center solution tailored to meet the company’s specific needs. The solution included the following components:
- Micro Small Data Center: The solution included a full set of micro-modular systems, such as cabinets, cold aisle systems, power distribution units, cooling systems, environmental monitoring systems, and integrated cabling solutions. These systems are designed to work independently while being unified under a central management platform.

- Energy Efficiency Features: The micro-modular design uses aisle-level air conditioning, which directly cools the heat sources near the equipment, reducing cooling loss. The sealed aisle design prevents hot and cold air from mixing, ensuring improved energy efficiency.
- Remote Monitoring & Intelligent Management: The system was equipped with an advanced environmental monitoring system that enables remote management, providing real-time monitoring of the data center’s environment and key equipment status. The intelligent management platform includes SMS, voice, and local sound-light alarms, ensuring the system operates seamlessly 24/7 without on-site staff.
- Redundancy & Reliability: The critical power and cooling equipment were designed with redundancy to ensure uninterrupted operation. The system is monitored continuously, guaranteeing that all key equipment remains operational at all times.
- Fire Safety: The aisles of the data center are equipped with skylights that support a fire-flip linkage, allowing external firefighting gases to enter the aisle and suppress fires quickly.

Outcome
This solution not only enhances operational efficiency but also offers the scalability required to support future business expansion. The micro-modular design ensures a flexible and future-proof data center, allowing the company to stay ahead of technological demands while contributing to the advancement of the water surveying industry.
